MISSION FIELD: Week 59

Hello Family,

I hope all is well for you in the states and that you are all getting healthier.  Well life here has changed a lot.  We have a new mission pres and lots of transfers happened.  So I am with Elder White now.  He is from New York and has been here for 6 months.  We will be having interviews with the new pres on Wed.  So, we will be able to know him a little better.  But, the work is moving along great here and I can't wait for this week, to see the blessings the Lord has for us.  Well, look for what the Lord wants you to be, and then and only then, will you become someone better.

We heard this this week -
"It can't be comprehended by anyone, but those that pass through it."

"We can't use the atonement fully, unless we suffer, just a particle of what Christ suffered, then, we will fully respect what Christ did for us."

Have a great week and I love you all!!!

love, Elder Stratton

MISSION FIELD: Week 58 Back to Normal?

                                                                                  23 June 2014

    Well, this is the week.

So much will change this week and and its getting kinda cool to watch.   So my comp goes back home on Friday and we get new mission president on Tuesday.  Lots will be changing and it will be fun I'm really excited.  But this last week was a pretty good week, we talked to some new families.  A guy named Alex.  He is super cool and we are lucky to have received him, he is super interested in The Church and he has came to see a baptism and he came to church with us, so it will be cool!  We had some trials this week, but I think they will be getting better now and man it's getting hot again.

Oh, so we went and did a service project at the mental hospital here in Praia.  Super creepy.  Didn't really know what to do, but we went and cleaned some fields, so they can plant food and such for the people.  Then, they had us go in and meet the people, ha ha, it was super funny, 'cause this guy that I taught, is in there and I saw him and talk, then asked 'Why are you here?' he said, 'Well, if I act crazy and stuff, then I will get sent here and it is all free here, so why not?  Free food!!!'  ha ha  By the way, he is completely sain and has no problems.  Then, Sunday we showed up for church and it was filthy.  So, we spent most of church cleaning, so it was a good week!

Well, that's about it for this week.  Have a great week and we shall talk next week!!

MISSION FIELD: Week 57 Still Alive in Cape Verde!

                                                                                    16 June 2014

Well everyone, I'm still alive.  Ha ha  We are fine here and things are going great.  We are working hard and this last week was really good, we found 9 new people and are starting to teach them.  It will be very good, but we have 2 weeks till the new mission president gets here and it looks like we will be having transfers this week, so it should be fun!
Life is going by really fast and the weeks seem like days, it's really weird.   Well, that's about all for this week, the work moves on and the work of God is done.  Well, have a great week!

MISSION FIELD: Week 55 X-rays & Hospital

                                                                                         2 Jun 2014

Ha ha, this last week was pretty fun and I will start from the beginning..... so remember my arm, how it got infected, (staph), 6 weeks ago (from a mosquito bite), and I went to the doctor and got some meds to kill it.  Well, we thought it did that...., but come to find out it (the infection) just moved... so few weeks later... got salmonella from an egg, that was bad, then, got super sick last Monday and went to the hospital, stayed there for 8 hours getting an IV and X-rays and we found out the infection moved to my lungs and I had staph in them, ha ha.  Fun stuff!  The X-ray looked like roots of a tree in my lungs it was pretty cool to look at!!  But ya, that was life last week.  Sat in the house resting for the rest of the week and now I get to work!!!  Yaaa!!!  Well, y'all have a great week and know we are safe and sound!!

God lives and we are his kids.
